Kuih tahi itik is
a traditional famous cake in Pantai Timur such as Kelantan and
Terengganu. It is a kind of
cake made from eggs and
sugar poured with hot syrup. This cake
is usually made in conjunction with kuih jala
mas or kuih pauh dilayang, as both cake used yellow egg yolk while kuih
tahi itik using white egg
yolk. The name of
kuih tahi itik may be based on duck’s dung look alike and also maybe because it is produced from
waste production from other cakes that cause it
is identified with the waste
or dung.
Ingredients:
- telur putih setengah kilo
*ditapis dengan kain*
- tepung setengah cawan
- gula 1 cawan
- bunga cengkih 5-6 kuntum
- daun pandan 3 helai disimpul
- minyak mazola setengah cawan
Method:
- Kesemua bahan kecuali minyak disatukan. Kepok2
biar sebati.
- Masak dengan menggunakan api yang sederhana.
- Kacau agar tidak hangit.
- Bila dah hampir kental, masukkan minyak mazola.
- Kacau lagi hingga kental sempurna.
- Buang daun pandan dan bunga cengkih.
- Bentukkan ikut suka hati.
